month. So, he was obliged to Sergei for this.
6. During their conversation Lushkoff reveals
that Sergei’s cook, Olga, is responsible for the positive change in him. How

ANS-Lushkoff took the work of
chopping woods for Sergei. But he was a weak drunkard. He could not chop wood
well. Sergei’s cook Olga took pity on him. She chopped the wood for him. He
told Sergei that he never chopped wood. It was done by Olga. Her kindness
transformed him. He stopped drinking and started earning his living. In this
way Olga’s kindness saved his life.
